About Me

Researcher in Scholarly Language Processing (AI/NLP/ML/Digital Libraries)

I primarily work on mining scholarly scientific articles, extract meaningful information from them with AI/NLP/ML techniques. Our objective is to cut through the clutter of science in academia and accelerate scientific discovery. Using Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning-Deep Learning, Bibliometric Intelligence techniques we seek to develop an AI that would help humans understand scientific knowledge better and connect the dots faster.

My current research is dedicated towards three scholarly problems: Novelty, Scope and Quality of Scientific Articles. Specifically, we  seek to develop an AI that would assist editors/reviewers in the peer review process.

Research to me is an intellectual pilgrimage.

Research In Progress

  1. Devising machine learning solutions to automatically isolate out-of-scope submissions (an automated AI peer reviewer/editor) in the peer review process.

  2. Using citation networks, content extraction, bibliographic analysis to measure the impact/depth and scope of a scientific research article.

  3. Citation Significance and Impact on Article Quality

  4. Simulating act of human recall in recognizing novelty of texts via leveraging Dynamic Memory Networks and Textual Entailment

  5. Predicting significance of reviews in peer review decisions
